Monemvasia is located 95 km from Sparta. The rock 300 meters high, which is built, is associated with a low bridge to the shore. The narrow strip connecting the coast with the rock, gave the name to Monemvasia. which in Greek means the only passage, the only entrance.
Bridge is the other name of the new Nea Monemvasia Town, which lies opposite from the castle modern and vibrant all year round, offering every kind of tourist services by the sea.
