there is a park with playgrounds, cafes and restaurants. In the center of the park is a statue of Kolokotronis (Hero of Greek Revolution) and towards the end of the park, next to the courthouse, the statue of Kapodistrias, first Governor of the Greek state.
Opposite the statue of Kapodistrias is the three Admirals Square with the monument of Ypsilanti and historic buildings such as the first School of Greece (1833) which today houses the town hall of Nafplio, and the building of the first Greek Academy (1829).

As we walk through the narrow streets with the traditional houses, cafes and tourist shops, we find the great Syntagmatos(Constitution)square ideal for families with young children.

There are cafes, restaurants, two Turkish mosques (one mosque is now a movie theater) and the Archaeological Museum (former arsenal of the Venetians). In Syntagma Square, a numerous of cultural events take place, especially during the summer months.
